As American Idiot continues to rock out over at the St. James Theatre, Broadway.com decided to commend the exhilarating Green Day musical as it enters its fifth month on the Great White Way. Instead of breaking out a "21 Guns" salute, we asked our resident artist, Justin 'Squigs' Robertson, to make his mark on the show by capturing the invigorating energy of Idiot's guitar-totting best friends Johnny (John Gallagher Jr.), Will (Michael Esper) and Tunny (Stark Sands). We think the tatted-up Tunny would approve of the ink! Keep on rocking, guys!
About the Artist: With a desire to celebrate the magic of live theater and those who create it, and with a deep reverence for such touchstones as the work of Al Hirschfeld and the wall at Sardi’s, Squigs is happy and grateful to be among those carrying on the traditions where theater and caricature meet. He was born and raised in Oregon, lived in Los Angeles for quite a long time and now calls New York City his home. Photo by Matthew Murphy
